Currently, I have a professional photo studio which is fully equipped for all types of maternity photo shoots in Southern California.

A Bit About Me

As a mother of two, I love working with moms-to-be and putting extra care into taking memorable pictures. So, allow me to take you through everything parents can expect when booking a maternity Orange County photo shoot with me.

About Jennifer's Maternity Sessions

One of the things I prioritize is to provide a seamless maternity photo shoot experience to all my clients. That’s why planning ahead is important. This includes having a pre-session consultation to determine all the details. It will help in deciding the wardrobe, styling, and overall photo or background ideas to make the maternity session unique as well as enjoyable. Planning ahead with a professional maternity photographer makes a difference once you get to the studio.

Studio Environment

The fun and comfortable environment I create in my studio helps photos come out looking natural. I take it upon myself to sanitize and clean the space after each session to ensure safety. It’s essential for parents-to-be to feel relaxed with their maternity photographer, so you can always talk with me about any of your concerns.

As a reputable Orange County maternity photographer, I take pride in having one of the best-equipped and spacious 440-square-foot studios. There are a variety of colored back drops to choose from, over 30 different gowns, wraps and clothing pieces to wear, and a number of pieces of furniture and props to take the perfect maternity photographs.

FAQs

Planning a maternity photo shoot can be an overwhelming experience, but as an Orange County maternity photographer, it’s my job to make the process seamless for my clients. That’s why I always schedule consultation sessions and encourage clients to ask questions, as it helps me understand their wishes. Here are some common queries I have encountered as a professional photographer.

During my consultations, I’ve often found clients getting a bit worried about the things they will need during the maternity Orange County photo session. Though the list isn’t huge, I ask that you bring a strapless bra and nude underwear, makeup to retouch in between photos, and styling items.

Hair and Makeup

If you would prefer to get your makeup or hair styling done at the studio I can book it for an additional cost and you’ll have even less to worry about!

Food for Thought

While I do provide refreshments like tea and coffee in my studio, carrying snacks is always recommended as the sessions can sometimes be long. All clients should also pack things that make them comfortable throughout the shoot, be it a neck pillow or a pair of comfy slippers for when you need a little break.

Children

If you are planning to include kids in the photo shoot, it’s essential to bring their things as well. I do have a selection of toys, puzzles, and books available for little ones, but I also recommend bringing toys or other items to keep them engaged during longer photo sessions so that you can focus on the photo shoot. We will always start the shoot with the littles so we don’t have to pull them away from the toys.

One of the most challenging things about planning a maternity photo session is picking the right outfits. That’s why I have a lot of maternity outfits and gowns in my studio so that you have access to multiple options.

Figure it Out Ahead of Time

The pre-session consultation is the time to discuss the outfits you would like to wear. I also encourage clients to go through the portfolio on my website to get ideas about what to wear during a maternity photography in Orange County shoot.

Simple Options

I encourage dresses in solid colors as some patterns may look jarring with the background or divert focus from the belly. It’s recommended you choose or bring multiple outfits to the shoot.

On Location

Depending on your choice of locations in Orange County, I will advise on various styles of dress and outfits to best suit the location be it a local open space, hidden forest grove, or at beach maternity photos.

To be honest, there’s no fixed timeframe to have a maternity photography Orange County shoot. However, the most common time is during 32 to 36 weeks. The baby bump shows well during the 7th and 8th months of pregnancy.

Sometimes Earlier is Better

Having said that, there are cases where I have had mothers that are expecting twins that will book earlier sessions between 24 to 28 weeks. I also recommend clients with high-risk pregnancies to opt for a photo shoot during the second trimester for utmost safety and comfort or consult with their doctor first as I priortize safety.

Yes, it’s always a good idea to include family members in a maternity photo shoot. In fact, as a mother of two, I feel that some of the best pictures I have taken as a maternity photographer are that of families. My clients are welcome to include their immediate family like spouses and children in the maternity photography Orange County shoots.

My experience as a maternity photographer is to book a maternity sessions as soon as possible as most photographers get booked quickly. This will leave enough time for several consultations that are required to ensure a perfect photo shoot.

Progress Pregnancy Timeline

If you want to document your whole pregnancy, I recommend contacting me as soon as you know you want a session, and we will schedule it for the right time for you.

Beach Maternity Photos

On location photos at Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, or Huntington Beach all require additional planning ahead of the session.  Be sure to discuss this with your maternity photographer prior to booking.
