Pricing for Newborn Photo Sessions
All newborn portrait sessions take place in the Santa Ana studio. The session prices listed do not include any products such as canvases, prints or digital images. A product package will be created at your in-person review session when you view the final images. Session fees are for the time it takes to create the photos in the studio, editing of the photos and all costs for props, wraps, headbands and other items used during the session.

How booking happens…
Once you and your significant other have agreed to book with Jennifer McNeil Photography, contact her for a contract and to submit payment for the session fee over the phone. A signed contract and paid session hold your place in her bookings. Because births can happen at any time, there is no firm date of your newborn photo session. Please keep in touch with Jennifer through the last weeks of your pregnancy. Once baby has arrived, then contact Jennifer to coordinate dates and times for your newborn photography session.
Planning Consult & Newborn Photo Session
A pre-session consult is a common meeting with client and photographer. There are a lot of details discussed like color palettes, themes, example photos and choosing props. All the choices during the consult are noted by Jennifer and prepared for your session the night before you arrive for photos.
On the day of the session, simply arrive on time and follow Jennifer’s instructions on how to get the most photos and setups out of your scheduled session time. A typical full newborn session is 3-4 hours of photos with many changes and nursing feedings in between. Once the session is complete, Jennifer will choose the best images and edit them in Photoshop and Lightroom. Everything up to this point is covered by the cost of the session fee.
In-person Review Session & Product Ordering
Upon completion of editing, Jennifer will call the family back for an in-person ordering session. At this meeting clients look at the photos for the first time in a slideshow set to music. From there, individual photos can be reviewed and products purchased. Jennifer will coordinate colors and styles you may have for your home or nursery room with your purchases. Canvases can be ordered and announcements given a preliminary design. Payment for the products will be taken before any order is placed with the artwork suppliers.
After the final designed artwork pieces or announcements are signed off an finalized, Jennifer will place the order with her artwork suppliers. The orders are commonly shipped to her for a final quality inspection before wrapping and pick-up by her clients. The session is complete, the clients have their product, and sharing of these amazing images begins with family and friends.
